On the former office location Holendrecht Centre at in Amsterdam-Zuidoost, a substantial and sustainable housing complex arises for students, Young Professionals, expats and starters. The green courtyard between the three buildings is open to the public and offers both a pleasant walking route from and to the Holendrecht station and a great place to live, recreate and meet. In total there are three buildings with high-quality services and a total of 1.559 apartments, 950 of which are meant for students.
PREFABricated
The prefabricated bathrooms are produced in series at the Ursem plant and meet all Building Code fire and noise requirements. On the outside of the bathrooms, installation company Schouten Techniek places a technical compartment with all necessary installations for central heating, ventilation, water and electricity. After testing and approval of the bathrooms they are wrapped in waterproof packaging material and prepared for transport to the building site.
The bathrooms will be delivered on the building site just-in-time, and hauled to the proper floor. To guarantee a massive floor quality, after the bathrooms are fitted on location, a sand-cement screed is applied, to be finished with floor tile.
Today a test delivery, consisting of one bathroom module, took place. Before the transport could take place, the lifting beam was adjusted so that the module could be placed in the tunnel with a correct balance.
This bathroom module was transported by truck to the project site and was successfully installed and assembled there.
From week 8 onwards, the delivery of the remaining 955 bathrooms will start at a rate of 40 pieces per week until all bathrooms have left our premises in the second week of October 2019.
Today, the parties involved and alderman Laurens Ivens (Building & Living) announced the official start of the construction. Completion is planned for Q3/Q4 2020. The cooperating parties in this project are Greystar, municipality of Amsterdam, Blauwhoed and Bouwcombinatie Holendrecht, a collaboration between two VolkerWessels construction companies. Owner Greystar manages and rents the apartments.
