Delivery 2003

The prison at Vught is one of the most heavily guarded prisons in the Netherlands. In july 2002 Ursem was requested to build 144 cells and an office-accommodation on the existing grounds. Within 1 year – in May 2003 – the buildings were handed over to the Ministry of Justice of the Netherlands.

The cellblock was built in 2 separate floors. The office-accommodation is build in 3 separate floors.

Shortly after signing the contract, the explicit content of the set-up changed. On the customers demand, it changed from a temporary solution into a building with a permanent specification. Thanks to the flexibility of our team and their creativity we, managed to deliver within the agreed time-scale.
